I think it's time for a word or two about the latest addition to the Clan clan. You've probably seen us on Akarra already, most members play quite a lot. The clan "does what it says on the tin", Nobles of Akarra. Which means that we aim to: * be friendly and helpful * stay clear of squabbles, game politics and clan wars * enjoy the game To that end, we decided that new members will only be allowed in by majority vote by the clan leaders. Prospective new members will have to be know to at least one leader. Beyond that there are now requirements in the sense of level or what kind of character you're playing. So who are we looking for? Well, "noble" people if you pardon the pun. Folk who enjoy playing the game, are willing to solo as well and not be powerlevelled all the time, teamplayers, reasonably friendly and grown up in their behaviour (doesn't mean you can't be wacky but no people who think it's ok to behave like 6 year olds on the playground), no habitual player killers, people who will fit in reasonable with the other Dukes ... I think you get the idea. The reasoning behind this is that we do *not* want to get involved in game politics or worse, clan wars, we just like to play the game. Call us old fashioned but that's who we are! So, if you think you fit in and would like to be part of a group like that, just speak to one of the leaders (Dedi, Yeknodd, Mariella, rukh or Cwlhwch). We might defer the vote if no one knows you yet but talk to us, we don't bite! ;D If you're refuesd, that doesn't mean we think you're evil, just that for some reason or other we don't think you'll fit in well. And although an individual leader will accept or refuse you, that doesn't mean it was his/her decision alone, it always goes by vote! See you round! Cwlhwch

Ok, for the time being Duke is not taking on any new members because we would like to encourage other people to found new guilds or reinvigorate existing ones. it just balances things out more nicely rather than one guild having so many members and 15 is a nice number Cwlhwch

Seeing that there's more people back on and various active clans (or restarting clans) we're lifting our block on new member applications.
All the entrance criteria still apply though!
See ya round!

Know why ppl want the most to be in DUKE? cause other guilds dont have good guild houses/leaders who progress the guild. I once tried to become a duke but the answer was immediately: sry we dont take any more members cause we encourage new guilds to be made etc. etc. The reason why ppl dont make new guilds is that they dont have enough money/friends to make a new guild, me and my friend are gathering money for a new guild but the money goes on to something more useful and concretical. And the money to make a guild is rather hard to get when lower than 60 lvl, you cant even hold the whole amount at a time. I know, I know bank is for those kind of things but the money goes to something more useful, for ex. skills/spells/new armor/teleports/misc. We even got the guild tag figured out, still missing the money though...

Umm ... well, apart from Pro. all guilds have houses at the moment, Sage has one in Hope, as does Hero, Merc has the one on Dry Island. And sorry but accepting members who want to be in Duke just because we got a house isn't a good way to build a cohesive guild. Maybe Duke is so successful because we're a bit more careful about selecting good teamplayers Back when you asked, Akarra was still really low on players and that's why we put the temporary stop on recruitment. Now there are more people we're a bit more open to new members. The money argument doesn't cut it though, when we started Duke, the highest lvl leader was Dedi and he was lvl 60 or so. You don't have to carry all the money alone, all you need is one leader who can carry 10gc, all the other have to carry is 5gc each. That means what, one lvl 50 or so and 4 which are lvl 32+ And everyone has to decide whether new weapons etc are more imortant to them than a guild. Dedi and me did nothing but kill trolls for hide for several days to collect the money for founding Duke and buying the house. It's not impossible but you need determination. So go for it and if you need a loan, well, talk to Cwlhwch! Cwlhwch

I think a major problem is a trust thing everyone wants to have their own guild and don't wanna pool their resourses :/
Give it time we need to get the lowbies leveled up cause theres not very much experienced players that are guildless right now.

It seems AlphaTheWhite was pk'ed by mouse on Dry Island yesterday just for setting foot on that very island.
Until Mercenaries for Hire adopt a policy of non-agression towards the Nobles of Akarra, Cwlhwch and me will assault any Mercenaries for Hire with pk-status as soon as they're within the area of Hope, regardless of AFK-status.
We understand this as an act of limited counter-agression to ensure the safety of our Clan Members in the world of Akarra. This does not mean a state of war between the two Clans.
Yeknodd.

Ok another Duke update.
It's no big secret that Duke has been having "interesting times" with some of the new members we took on in the last 2 months or so. I won't go into detail.
But ... we've changed our admissions policy somewhat. The three main points are:
1) We will not accept anyone who was (for any period of time) in Hero or Dark (other clans may or may not get added to this list as required). We're keeping a list so if you are or were, please don't bother asking.
2) We're now invite only. That means that unless you're a total newbie and haven't read this post, we will not admit anyone who simply puts themselves on the pending list. We will either approach you or - if you feel we know you well enough and that you fit the Duke philosophy - you can private one of the leaders and talk to us. Please be advised that 1/2 hrs worth of fs won't be sufficient for a successful application.
3) There will be a probation period for all new admittees to Duke. Translates as: we will give you a key to the Hope guildhouse straight away but you will only receive a key to Duke's Eastern and the Mansion once your probation is over.
We've never stated it because we thought it was obvious but obviously not: if you are a member, you do not give your keys to a non-Duke, no matter for what reason; if you leave Duke, return the keys to a leader. Do not chuck them behind a bush! If you lose a key due to gross negligence, you will have to pay for the lock change or we'll have Merc kill you until you have dropped enough money to pay for changing the locks AND the contract taken out on you.
Duke is not going nasty but we object to being messed around.
In this sense, happy Teresa Tang's birthday!

Wem das Hemd paßt, der zieht es sich an, Xet ....
The fact that Dark acquired Merlin's keys and tried to talk other Dukes into handing over their keys actually yes, does make me believe that you're desperate ...
I do apologise for judging people by their actions, it's a nasty habit I know.

Given time .... I think you could trust Xet in a guild .. In fact I encouraged him to stay a while just to see if he would change his mind and level a little bit.

So it seems im not the only one who wants to join Duke Heh, cwlh he (i remember him being lower than 90 lvl) was the 1st person i even met in akarra, he helped me lvl a bit and he gave me some amulets and equipment. He's my idol. Btw, i wonder what was going on when i first logged in, there was only 1 player who was logged in. Nowadays i see over 10 ppl logged in almost everyday.
