Mariella> hello luck, why do you do that? Ptolemy> to piss off Cwl mostly. Mariella> but why we all? Ptolemy> You guys are part of the guild. I created a guild that would focus on bringign down the biggest guild. Ptolemy> Don't you think Duke is strong enough to defend itself? Ptolemy> I wouldn't pick on a small guild, but i see the Nobles of Akarra as a challenge. Ptolemy> And I have many ppl also willing to wage war on what seems to be the strongest guild. Mariella> Ok, but hero was a good clan before it set diplo to hostile. Ptolemy> Many of us who had spent alot of time leveling were quitting to go to school. We wanted to have fun before we left. What better way to test our strenght than vs a valid opponent? Ptolemy> Notice that we didn't insult or provoke you guys Ptolemy> we simply imposed a war that could have been losts of fun had you guys seen it as friendly rivalry or a challenge. Ptolemy> I suggest you start to see this as a challenge. Akarra is not all about sticking to a guild house and leveling to no end. The Hostality was made for a reason. Mariella> We will not fight you Ptolemy> You won't need to.

Ptolemy> the past few weeks have been pretty quiet. Boring even. Mariella> but not for me Ptolemy> what do you guys do all day? Ptolemy< Akarra is about goal-setting Ptolemy> and you need rebels to spice things up. Ptolemy> You guys spice things up for me, You're my targetted challenge. Mariella> I do leveling, i speak to my friends here Ptolemy> You're going for lvl 200? Ptolemy> I guess it depends on how you are as a person. but if i wanted to chat, id go on msn. Mariella> Its funny when i get killed from ennemies. Ptolemy> It should be. Ptolemy> You shouldnt get angry, you should try to improve. Ptolemy> The reason why Hero grew so fast was precisely because of these pre set goals. Ptolemy> If you lvl in the pursuit of a goal, you won't stop until you have reached it. Ptolemy> and once you reach it, you will look for an even bigger plan for you to fufill

The funny thing is, due to the nature of akarra, the only way to win a guildwar is if the opposing team gets bored before you do. And, due to the short attention spans of our generation, wars of this nature tend to last no more than a couple of weeks (usually it is the attacking side that gets bored, they rarely drive away enough of the others before they lose interest). You may argue, but with the exception of the persistent "Fuzzy and crew" who only stopped because of the wipe, that's what happened every time before.

Akarrian Guild Wars.
Strangely enough this method of war is about the same as a real war. The only reason wars end in real life is because one side surrenders, or because they no longer have a cause to fight. Generally our wars in real life end because of the economy suffering due to the war and poor moral. For every death in a guild war, you lose coin. Because of this your guild as a whole loses a bit of overall money. Also the moral of people suffers due to all the pking. If one person wanted to go into town and buy supplies or sell items, and is killed before they reach the obelisk, the person often gets frustrated and generally gives up to try agian another day.
Luckily since the wars are fought mostly by children(ages 10+) and the coins can be regained fairly easy, and often one side does give up due to lack of interests or broken spirit.

It depends on the server and the kind of ppl playing it. On gorgs, Hero went agaianst Inc. on a one day war. Both guilds never fought before but an obvious rivalry was always visible. One day, an Inc. member came to what we called "our" leveling spot and war was declared. It lasted about 4 hours in hope. A clear winner was declared when after every respawn Hero got owned. A few weeks later (3 weeks) a new war was declared versus Inc. However, this time, Hero had grown considerably in lvls and number. The war only lasted an hour or so. Hero was the clear winner. If you ask anyone that witnessed or participated to these fights, they'll tell you exactly what I'm trying to say. Wars are fun if you look at them as a challenge rather than whatever you see it as. Aside new items, new skills, new gems, self-defense improvement for guild wars should also be a motive for leveling. In that 3 weeks of leveling, Hero set the record in exp gained on the whole server. Even though no one plays right now, its still on top in the statistics page. Oh and btw, this guild is just to kill some Dukes. If I really thought you guys might actualy go to war, Hero would be the one fighting; not Duke. If you guys ever get any balls, I'd like a one day war.

Apoc deleted the topic about the 20 day ownership rant; so I'll post this here. Duke is being taken care of; as of NOW. The wait is over, the skeptics and the idiots can kiss my butt.

Well it seems most of this rather one sided war is over now. Most of the people who shouldn't be there have left, so we've reset our diplomacy to Lost to neutral.
We don't intend to go on individual vendettas of people who have participated either, we're very firmly a peaceful guild as we've said before and hope Akarra can go back to a bit of normality.
Most importantly I'd like to point out one thing though: a great number of people who got trapped in the mansion due to a power failure (we won't claim to have the forces of nature on our side though we did recently welcome a rare Shaman!) have claimed that their characters were "put" there by "other people" and not them. We will never know if people were indeed naive enough to hand out their passwords for whatever reason but here's our position:
We have accepted this time that not all people went there on their own accord. We shall however *not* accept this excuse a second time. We're getting our obelisk room with a guard regardless of the invansion's end and next time you end up in a Duke house illegally, we will *not* accept this excuse again and you'll be stuck until... well, until we fancy a change of decor.
Don't hand out your passwords as the admins do not accept this as an excuse either and next time round you might not only get trapped but potentially have your character deleted... This isn't a threat from Duke but I'm just pointing out that not every player/guild has our friendly game philosophy.

First off, Cwl, there's nothing illegal about infiltrating the enemy's base. Especialy when the enemy stays in that same mansion 24/7.
We were able to explore the mansion in a large number; and we have come to realize how insanely corrupt it is. It has about 50 almost caged lvl 100+ skels; while on our end, they were removed from our guild houses in accordance to a new rule. We lost about 100+ monsters without a refund.
After reading on the forums that you planned on caging in the obelisk, we decided that we had stalled long enough and it was time to invade. We were shocked when we got in, by not only the number of monsters left defenseless, but also by your lack of defence. I warned the rest of them not to touch the obe if they didnt not wish to take the risk because i suspected a lock change, and thus, I only put in my shadows which i had no other use for. WHen you say you "accepted the excuse", I'm sure you're thinking your doing us a favor, and perhaps for some of us you are, but not for me, I couldnt give a rats head about the chars I have in your mansion and now have a lifetime job of killing you fools.
About your character deletion threat: Biggest bull*CENSORED* I've heard in my life, I'll let my chars get trapped wherever they want.
Another thing that got my attention is the fact that you guys got your lock change at a remarkable speed... I remember once asking for a lock change after some unwanted ppl got a hold of our keys. I don't recall apoc being in sure a rush to conform to our demands. Surely apoc does not Favor Duke..? But of course he does have most of his chars in there. And Duke does have a cheap ass mansion... And that's beside the point that it Was Your Own Dumb Fault for letting us get a hold of your key.
You guys may remember a while back when Hero and Dark decided they'd go on a killing rampage. That was a pretty crazy thing to do right? Now again a risky operation such as infiltrating a mansion is pretty crazy aswell... The thing is, I like taking a break after i reach an objectif. That was the objectif, and it is now accomplished.
I'll see you guys some other day. Peace

Petal, 1) Learn to read. I wasn't threatening you or anyone with deletion. I merely pointed out that when you hand out your password, anything could happen, including someone pressing the "delete character" button. 2) Not that it's anybody's business if we chose to stay in the Mansion 24/7 but a) we don't (and someone who plays as frequently as you is hardly in a position to judge) and b) it has probably escaped your notice that almost all frequent Dukes are older and in full time employment, several of whom freelance who kill the odd spawn while at work. Your lack of homework may enable you to play for hours on end but running my company doesn't. And I don't see how it's skin of anyone's nose if we stay indoors, the monsters aside no one gets hurt unless we count your tender feelings. 3) Learn to count. Apoc has one character in Duke, kirby has one and AZN has two. That's hardly "most" of Apoc's characters. And lastly my post wasn't for your benefit because I knew you'd go off an some tangent (I suggest http://www.hyperdictionary.com) about how unfair the world is and how everyone is conspiring against your efforts at playing Mother Teresa but rather to let other players know what the state of affairs is. As I have done that, I don't care what you will post in reply to this post, don't expect a response from me. Cwlhwch/LiathLuachra

1) idiot, i Can read: "and next time round you might not only get trapped but potentially have your character deleted... This isn't a threat from Duke " - Seemed to me like admins were the ones inflicting the threat; considering the fact that its also the admins that decide if were "trapped" or not. Next time be more specific.
2) needs some checking. Do I play often or not? "someone who plays as frequently as you is hardly in a position to judge" (sarcastic) and "Your lack of homework may enable you to play for hours on end " all that beside the point that you're defending.. that..? you are not in fact always in a guild house? Rofl anyways..
Apocs main char is in Duke, and the rest of the admins have a char in there too.
And lastly my post wasn't for your benefit because I knew you'd go off an some tangent (I suggest http://www.hyperdictionary.com) about how unfair the world is and how everyone is conspiring against your efforts at playing Mother Teresa but rather to let other players know what the state of affairs is. Rofl. stupid ass response. Mother Teresa comes from..? I hardly promote peace.
