I never understand why people don't share secrets/crafts, it would keep people more interested in the game, being able to try new things, make new chars. the community is so small now that there is no point trying to shun people.
and it's not like in A1 where there was alot of pking, if someone has the same item as you, what's the difference?

Booga can keep it secret if he wants, just like everyone with a custom item keeps their craft ingredients secret. He spent the time figuring it out, just like everyone else spent the time getting a character to level 90 for their custom. Some of the crafts I've figured out from scratch cost me a lot of wasted time and money, so I definately wouldn't give the info out for free, I'd probably trade it for an unknown craft or something. I don't think Booga's secret is a craft though.
I do think it would be nice to have more ingame hints towards some of the unknown items. With so many crafting possibilities, there's really such a slim chance of anyone actually figuring stuff out without at least one vague hint.
Especially Point Blank Shot I: Extremely helpful skill for the Ranger, yet not the slightest clue how to get it, other than hearsay. That's like taking Sword Mastery away from a Sword Dancer.
The trick is finding the right balance between keeping things fun and challenging but also making them possible/probable to obtain.

There are so many things i could complain about the craft system... -There are just too many "x" factors - The item you are trying to create could be made from a crafted item (crafting something out of another crafted item is always more complicated) - The item you are trying to create could be made from an item that a monster drops or an item that is assembled from monster drops - If you're looking for a spesific craft, you usually only one clue: the name of the item (for example "negative candle" doesn't down your options much, it could be made from destruction tabs or any other dark object that might come in mind, or it might as well be made from a dark skull wand + candle + dark stone + hammer of desecration??? the problem is: you never know ) - When you have the items you think that might be even close to the craft, you start to think: "Hmm... now how will i craft it... well, I'll travel to every town and try crafting at each local crafting place" But there is a possibility that a part or the whole craft can be done by assembling (putting an item on another item) or using some item on the craft material (ctrl + u if i remember correctly). They are just more "x" factors that worsen your possibility to craft anything. - The item you're crafting could be made from 1-5 materials but those craft materials can be other crafted items that can require additional 1-5 materials. And there are about 10 npc:s where you can try to craft the materials (4 at hope, 3 at faith (i think) and i'm not sure about serenity, maybe 3 but i think there's more) + the possibility that the materials can be assembled in your inventory + the possibility that a material is made by using something on it (a tool perhaps...). And how many items are there in-game? over 200? over 300? or even over 500? that's just a possibility.... just as winning the friggin' lottery is a possibility. So go ahead, all you players out there that plvled themselves to over 100 lvl by using 2 computers and 2 accounts, dedicate your money and tim... er... yourselves to winning in the akarrian lottery that we call "crafting" and once you win, keep the prize as a secret, it's not like anyone else can't find out the same craft. Those who won't participate in the lottery... um... i mean crafting, you will be offered a cozy job as the local pk:er and you will help the society by keeping anyone that isn't bribing... er... i mean being your friend out of the server. Thank you!

Well, I've never multilogged. That's one thing I can't stand, especially the two-computer "turn the other cheek" loophole.
As for crafts, I know pretty much everything on the Apedia, save for a few high-end, useless weapons. I'm always willing to make anything for anyone as long as they cover the base cost of an item, or at least some of the hard to get ingredients. The only reason I don't immediately reveal crafts over /ooc is the same reason Dukesapedia doesn't have a craft spoiler's page with everything listed, it cheapens the game, and I don't think Apoc would like that.
I do agree that all of these unknown crafts are a little bogus. But anything listed on Dukesapedia is usually easy to figure out. Most of the stuff I've figured out; Sorcerer's Lightning Rod, Axe of the Warlords, Blood Falchion, Taliesin's Blade, Crimson Armor of Longevity, took maybe a couple hours of casual wandering to figure out, once I narrowed down the ingredients. It's really the unknown stuff that's ridiculous, like what are Bat Wings for? Stuff like that.

first of all, his secret seems to be some unfair bug in thhe game.
and I agree with earthbounds ideas that these kind of things take away the fun in the game.
"So go ahead, all you players out there that plvled themselves to over 100 lvl by using 2 computers and 2 accounts, dedicate your money and tim... er... yourselves to winning in the akarrian lottery that we call "crafting" and once you win, keep the prize as a secret, it's not like anyone else can't find out the same craft. And whats kind of dumb is, i dont really care to use this so-called exploit bewear has "found". I just want to know.

Well, if it's a glitch/exploit, it should be fixed. From the text it seemed like something that was overlooked. Kinda like when Paladins were using Virtue/Bless II even though it was intended for Commander only, so it got removed. Or when Nature's Holy Handle was being used by Apprentice when it was intended for Druid only. Most people will just use stuff like that as long as they can before it gets noticed and changed. Who knows what it really is though. Neophytes are bigtime overpowered anyway, although we all love 'em in an FS. Ranger/Sword Dancer FTW!!!

I don't understand how it cost money to find a glitch that he found himself.
I could understand if he had to pay 700gc to get someone to tell him, but he didn't.
You could say he had to buy every item in the game to craft it... but that wouldn't cost 700gc, and since it(the secret) seems to be a glitch(or, not intended in-game by Apoc) then i don't think it is a craft. Bringing me back to the question of: Why did it cost him any money...
Just more questions that would peak one's curiosity of what his secret might be.........!

I've lost a few hundred gold easily figuring out crafts. Dragon Spear alone has already drained me of nearly 100gc and I still haven't figured it out.

The biggest hint's already in the screenshot. If I had my guess I'd say it's really just a matter of spending the money and narrowing it down. If he spent that much time and money figuring it out, why would he just give it away? And if it's a glitch that everyone knew, it'd probably get fixed, especially now that it's got its own thread on the forums . So there's really no incentive for exposing the secret any more than it's already been.
